My clients are resilient individuals who have experienced trauma within their spiritual communities, like churches. These individuals uncover the impact of certain belief systems and can begin the process of deconstruction with an open space welcomed with all their questions and doubts. Also, I focus on empowering those who desire to heal from childhood abuse and impacted by trauma.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) - Advanced and Enhanced Trained
As a trauma therapist, I provide a specialized form of treatment called Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is an evidenced-based practice that incorporates horizontal eye movements and visualization to assist in the reconsolidation of memories pertaining to traumatic memories and sensations. The therapy does not remove the facts of the events, but addresses the way an individual is impacted in their physical experiences and emotional reaction. You can find more information at ART International or from the creator Laney Rosenzweig, LMFT.
For current clients, ART can be incorporated into sessions as clinically appropriate. For new clients seeking ART, an Intake session (50-60 mins via video/in-person) is required prior to starting ART sessions are held in-person or virtually (depending on which modality is appropriate) and are generally from 90-120 minutes in duration.
Brainspotting (Phase 1&2)
Brainspotting was discovered by David Grand, PhD. in 2003. In this form of treatment, trauma is accessed by identifying a point on the client's visual field where it can be processed at a deeper level emotionally and somatically. For more information on Brainpotting. We can discuss if this may be helpful for your specific issues or goals. Sessions can be held in-person or virtually.
